Not a strong music reader? That's ok! We'll help you prepare at our Audition Workshops and we'll teach you all about music reading when you get to high school! (plus, the sightreading is only 10% of your audition score)

PITCH MEMORY (20% of score)
At the conclusion of your audition, all students will complete a Pitch Memory exercise, which consists of echoing back basic patterns you hear; a teacher will play a few notes on the piano and you sing them back on 'nah.'

There is really no way to prepare for this portion of the audition. This 60-second exercise is designed to assess how your brain already hears musical patterns.
